Our family flew to Prague from New York City on Air France and had a great experience. Just getting to the airport early enough for the international flight really helped. Oh, and having a positive attitude. I’ve found that having a positive attitude during air travel makes everything a little easier. Luckily, it was easy to have a positive attitude, thanks to Air France.
Generally speaking, airlines are cutting back on their perks. From peanuts to only pouring half a can of soda in a cup, in flight corners are being cut worldwide. But with Air France, I couldn’t tell. The food was outstanding, and I’m not just saying compared to other airlines. beverages were top notch. The guy sitting next to me enjoyed a few to many but it helped him sleep during the flight.
If a person is miserable at work, then chances are the company is not good to work for. That’s not an issue with Air France. The stewards and stewardesses were outstanding from takeoff to landing. They helped keep kids entertained on the flight so they wouldn’t be overly troublesome to other passengers. They quickly, and without any added drama, diffused an unruly passenger during the flight.
Tight seats can be miserable for taller or wider people. My friend is well over 6′ 3″ and he generally takes the aisle seat just to get more leg room. With the way the tickets fell this time, that was not an option. Air France provided ample room to stretch out, even in the coach class.
Getting off the plane was a bit hectic, like it is with any flight. I blame that more on the airport than the airline though. All in all my experience with Air France was great.
The price for the ticket was comparable to other airlines. Fortunately, I had a discount coupon so that helped save on the pocket book and budget for the trip.
Note to self: don’t forget to pack noise cancelling headphones because it is a long flight and some people snore very loudly!
